The second part of the "SerNet as a Platform" (SaaP) workshop series dealt with "Taxes": in a 90-minute session, the company's trainees, students and young professionals were given a compact, in-depth understanding of tax matters. The SaaP series was launched at SerNet GmbH to provide learning experiences beyond traditional academic or company training.
Gerhard Pahl, tax consultant and long-time companion of SerNet, navigated the participants through a variety of tax facts and provided insight into various aspects of the tax system. He covered topics such as tax returns, tax brackets, allowances, flat rates for home office and travel expenses, the distinction between self-employed and non-self-employed work, different types of tax and tax aspects of interest income and wage replacement benefits.
The upcoming workshops in the SaaP series will deal with other important topics such as insurance, the start-up landscape in Göttingen and the advantages and disadvantages of self-employment. These sessions are designed to promote practical knowledge and experience for young people at the start of their professional careers and support them on their path to a successful future.
