From April 20–21, 2026, the 25th sambaXP will take place in Göttingen, the home of SerNet and a long-standing hub of the Samba ecosystem. Tckets are available at https://sambaxp.org
As co-organizer and long-term contributor to the Samba project, SerNet views this anniversary not only as a community milestone, but as a strategic moment for open infrastructure in Europe.
For 25 years, sambaXP has provided a platform where developers, operators, and decision-makers meet on equal footing. The exchange between upstream development, enterprise deployment, and public sector requirements keeps Samba relevant both technically and strategically.
At a time when digital sovereignty and independent infrastructure are moving to the center of political and economic agendas, open-source core services such as Samba are gaining renewed importance. Transparent implementations, protocol-level expertise, and long-term maintainability are not optional. They are foundational. sambaXP 2026 reflects this reality. It brings technical depth and strategic perspective together and continues a tradition that began in 2002.
As host and long-standing supporter of the Samba project, SerNet regards sambaXP as a working forum. Roadmap priorities are clarified, architectural questions are examined from multiple angles, and operational experience feeds directly back into development decisions. These discussions influence how Samba evolves in the years ahead.
In a globally distributed project where most collaboration takes place online, in-person exchange adds focus and alignment. Complex questions can be addressed more effectively face to face, and shared understanding develops faster. For a core infrastructure component such as Samba, that grounding remains essential.
SerNet looks forward to welcoming everyone to Göttingen who wants to take part in this discussion and contribute to the next phase of Samba’s development.nächste Phase der Weiterentwicklung von Samba aktiv mitgestalten möchten.
