On June 6, SerNet can be found at the PraxisBörse at North Campus (Friedrich-Hund-Platz 1, 37077 Göttingen) at booth 21. Praxisbörse is the job and career fair of the University of Göttingen and takes place annually on the North and Central Campuses. This year, SerNet is once again aiming to inspire students to pursue a career in the company - while also informing them about its services and products in information security and the topic of OpenSource.
SerNet has been training and requalifying students for many years. Dr. Johannes Loxen, managing director, explains which target group is to be reached at the fair: "On the one hand, we would like to address students of computer science, but on the other hand also people who are interested in computer science and come from other fields. We have many lateral entrants on board, e.g. from the natural sciences, social sciences and economics, and we appreciate that very much. When you come from a foreign field, you have new expertise to bring to the table." He himself holds a doctorate in astrophysics and was a co-founder of the IT service company. Together with Alma Altergott, who is currently completing her bachelor's degree in business administration in the dual study program with a focus on business informatics at SerNet, he will represent the company at the practice exchange. Both will provide detailed information about the various entry-level opportunities at SerNet, such as working students, trainees or graduates.
The employment opportunities at SerNet are diverse. They range from the verinice and Samba departments, where programming is done using Java, Python or C, to systems integration and secure infrastructures. SerNet colleagues look forward to meeting the students in person and are, of course, available to answer questions.
