The year 2023 is drawing to a close. Together with our colleagues, customers and partners, we have achieved a great deal. We would like to say THANK YOU for the trusting cooperation and the confidence you have placed in us and look forward to the New Year. We would also like to use the end of the year to reflect and as well to cast a look ahead.
In 2023, the threat situation in the area of information security has evolved significantly, while awareness of IT security and secure infrastructures has increased. Companies and public institutions are facing growing challenges - a key aspect of this is the implementation of the NIS2 Directive in 2024, which provides for enhanced security of network and information systems within the EU. SerNet has developed its portfolio accordingly in order to not only support customers in complying with these new regulations, but also to make their infrastructures more resistant to cyber threats. With our solutions in areas such as cloud security, virtualization and IT infrastructure, coupled with our comprehensive range of consulting services, we will continue to help our customers overcome complex requirements in the new year.
The new generation of verinice, our ISMS and DSMS tool, will also contribute to this in 2024. With verinice DSMS, a complete data protection manager is already available on the new, web-based platform. Our new approach to information security management will follow in 2024. We are also continuously working on our SAMBA+ distribution for Linux and IBM AIX.
The shortage of skilled professionals was and is an issue everywhere. We are tackling it: With Girls'Day, we actively helped to get girls interested in IT security in 2023. We have also launched the newly designed workshop series SaaP - SerNet as a Platform: The aim here is to promote the personal and professional development of young people with topics that are often neglected during their studies and company training. By investing in training, dual studies and further education, we continue to focus on continuous training and professional development.
Last but not least, our social commitment at many levels reflects our commitment to not only achieving purely economic success, but also making a positive contribution to society. This is demonstrated, for example, by Reinhild Jung, who was reappointed as an honorary judge in 2023, and Johannes Loxen, who has taken up his third term of office on the General Assembly of the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). There he campaigns actively for the southern Lower Saxony region.
