As of July 1, 2025, Dr. Johannes Loxen will hand over the operational management of SerNet GmbH. Oliver Seufer will join Managing Director Reinhild Jung on the company's executive board.
The change in management is the next milestone in SerNet's history – and has been planned for a long time. “SerNet is now in its 29th year and – as we like to emphasize – thinks in decades,” says SerNet founder Loxen. “The handover is the result of careful consideration that began in 2015.” Reinhild Jung joined the management team in 2019 and has been working with Loxen to shape the transition process ever since. She is now joined by Oliver Seufer, who was previously Technical Director.
New dual leadership with proven strengths
“We combine change with reliability,” emphasizes Reinhild Jung. "Oliver and I have been part of SerNet for over 20 years. We know the structures, the teams, and our customers—and we share a clear vision of how we want to develop SerNet further." Each of them brings their own perspectives and strengths to the table, which complement each other well. While Oliver Seufer will primarily be responsible for technical aspects in the future, the commercial side of the business—including finance, administration, and human resources—will remain in the hands of Reinhild Jung.
Even under new management, the course remains clear: SerNet has positioned itself for almost three decades as a system house specializing in IT and information security. “SerNet remains SerNet. Just a chapter further,” is how Seufer puts it. Continuous change processes, considered growth, and the development of new markets will continue to be important in the future. The management points to recent developments: a sharpened portfolio in the “Secure Infrastructures” (SI) department in response to new requirements, e.g., in next-generation firewalls, endpoint security, and cloud security. Progress in interoperability with SAMBA+ and, most recently, large grants for the further development of the open-source project Samba. And the market readiness of a completely newly developed generation of the GRC tool verinice.
In addition to technological expertise, the company's culture remains a defining feature: “We are repositioning ourselves – the goal is long-term stability, both for our customers and partners as well as internally,” says Jung. She emphasizes the significance of open, personal interaction. It was therefore important that the change in management was supported internally. The result is positive feedback – many colleagues appreciate the fact that the new management comes from within the company.
Dr. Loxen remains active in an advisory capacity
SerNet founder Dr. Johannes Loxen will remain closely associated with the company in the future – as CEO of the subsidiary SerNet Inc. in California and as a strategic advisor: "I will take on an advisory role in the future. This will also give me the freedom to initiate new topics and projects over the next ten years,“ says Loxen. ”Sovereignty, resilience, and open source are gaining importance worldwide. SerNet will be part of this story."
