Since 2006, SerNet has been developing verinice, an open-source information security management software solution used by organisations in both the public and private sectors. Over the years, what began as an ISMS tool has evolved into a platform for governance, risk and compliance, bringing together information security, data protection and other management topics.
The strength of verinice lies in the combination of technical expertise and open technology. Organisations can map requirements in a structured manner, manage measures in a traceable way and maintain clear records.
With the new verinice platform, SerNet is developing the next generation: fully browser-based, technologically advanced and designed to serve as a foundation for further developments. In this way, the technical strength of the established verinice is being transferred into a new technical architecture.
Samba
Samba has been part of SerNet’s history since the company was founded in 1997. To this day, this connection remains not only historical, but also tangible in terms of personnel and technology.
SerNet has been actively involved in the development of Samba for many years – several members of the international Samba team are employed by SerNet. This expertise therefore extends not only to support and integration, but directly to the further development of the project itself. SerNet therefore not only works with Samba, but also on Samba.
With SAMBA+, SerNet translates this expertise into a professional offering: the software packages transform community-driven open-source technology into a robust solution for organisations that require interoperability, stability and long-term maintainability in their day-to-day operations. The close connection to the community remains a defining feature, for example through SerNet’s long-standing role as organiser of sambaXP.
